Default What kind of forum is better?

I have been reading about free forum software:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_Machines_Forum
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhpBB
    http://www.google.com.uy/#hl=es&sour...7c6d67c147318a
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...forum_software

At first glance it seems phpbb has more features than SMF. What kind do you prefer? Please vote and justify your reason as well I do not include vbulletin as it is not free. However, feel free to comment its advantages if you want.

    Thanks for your feedback!!

Well ive only really used vBulletin which is not free but is by far the best out there especially by the looks of there version 4, But out of the free ones simple machines is the worst as its got little to no features and really basic things you can change. So I would go with PhpBB if I were you its the best out of the ones you can get for free as its more advanced.

For me Vbulleting is best. Similar to an open source system, vBulletin has a flexible layout. This means you can easily apply any third-party components that you desire to enhance efficiency.

phpBB, hands down, for the reasons that have been stated.

Never mind I now only one place that uses Simple Machines, and I don't exactly like it...

I've been using mybb and phpbb3. i quite like mybb over phpbb3 as its easier to set up and don't have to mess around with permissions.

There are a few sites that let you compare forums and will tell you the pro's and cons.
